product_design_CTRL-X_scissors-2 - Cover

CTRL-X are minimal scissors designed by the Italian Alessio Romano, originating from Catania and graduated in industrial design at the Milanese IED.

His idea started by the conjugation of two archaic forms: the circle and the cone. The first one is used for creating the ergonomic handle, which encloses the lames of this remarkable product design; the second one has been applied to be the base of the scissors.

In fact, CTRL-X scissors are completely free-standing thanks to their cone base, which guarantees them a complete support and an appealing container at the same time.

This structure, combined with the circular grips, assures balance and a perfect union between aesthetics and functionality, making CTRL-X an admirable example of a product design.

By marrying the two shapes, the stand achieves a high degree of stability, making it well suited to a multitude of settings” said the designer.

They are available in three different colors, and their dimensions make them a product design perfect for both kitchen and office with their 20 cm of high.

Since his first project, Alessio Romano has collected several and important awards from Italian and foreign press and CTRL-X scissors make us to understand perfectly why.
