A small design studio, based in Los Angeles, step up to the challenge of creating a new pen with a simple, yet powerful smart ink. This pen is created and designed by Ensso.
Smart ink ‘Pen Uno’ is the study of liberating a pen of any unnecessary parts and ornamentation. This new super minimal all-aluminum pen has been re-designed so it can be transformed into a mechanical pencil by switching two parts only.
This pen features a 5.3mm diameter space-grade aluminium housing with a cap and holding barrel about the width of a normal pencil. This larger barrel is also the twisting mechanism used to expose the pen for writing and retract when not in use.
Smart ink comes in several different colours like – space-grey, red, black, gold and rose gold. Mostly matching most every iPhone colour on the market.
Pen Uno’ can also be transformed into a mechanical pencil by simply switching two components. As a pen, it uses the popular ‘Hi-Tec-C Coleto’ gel ink cartridge, which carries a reputation for smooth writing. As a mechanical pencil, it uses standard 0.5 mm leads.
