Finding a clothes rack that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, as well as affordable and easy to bring home and install may not be easy. But André Simón’s design LLAMA is an excellent solution to the problem. Instead of leaving your clothes on the floor or left hanging on a staircase newel post, the LLAMA clothes rack is a freestanding round rod birch wood structure. It is made from four shaped parts that are easy to assemble.
The final clothes rack definitely resembles a llama (domesticated South American camelid) with a tall vertical neck on top of a long horizontal back bar. At the top of the head-part of the clothes rack there are three protruding knobs (a nose and two ears) where long garments such as coats can be hung. At the opposite end of the horizontal back bar is a tail-like knob, at a height suitable for a child’s coat. Along the long back bar, clothes can be just hung across, or you can hang your umbrella. As there is free space under the clothes rack, there is room for leaving shoes or boots underneath. The LLAMA clothes rack comes painted in a light turquoise colour, with all pointy ends and feet in natural birch wood colour.
