Old Bond

Old Bond calls itself an “ideas boutique.” It is an independent creative agency that has capitalized on the trendiest mode of transportation—bicycling. “The technology behind their business is simple: four strips of LED lights attached to the spokes of bike wheels. The result, however, is mesmerizing – startling animations which can advertise words and phrases, move, and even rotate,” says an article on the University College London website. The founders, PhD students Art Stavenka and Kiryl Chykeyuk, won a grant from UCL that provided them with the necessary startup capital for Old Bond. They won big (90,000 pounds) on BBC’s Dragon’s Den, and their concept is already making visible changes to London’s urban landscape.

But it doesn’t have to illuminate just London’s landscape—the company can organize ad campaigns in any city of their client’s choice. Powerful businesses like Lloyd’s and McDonalds have trusted Old Bond with their brands. Old Bond is customer-centric, to the extent that each ad can be individually designed and clients can plan their bike routes. Their location-specific campaigns get the ads exposed to almost 250,000 people a day.
