World Green Design Forum

China is going green, and that’s not even news.
According to a research conducted by the New York Times in March, the Paris based Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development warned that urban air pollution is set to become the top environmental cause of mortality worldwide by 2050, ahead of dirty water and lack of sanitation. It estimated that up to 3.6 million people could end up dying prematurely from air pollution each year, mostly in China and India.

It is no mystery that China is taking the problem very seriously and on a more global scale, governments and international organizations are putting the green issue straight on the top of their agenda. Design42Day, on its part, is proud to have supported and to have taken part to the 2013 World Green Design Forum Yangzhou Summit, which was concluded successfully on the 29th of May in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, China.

Organized by the Dragon Design Foundation and themed ‘Green Design, Beautiful China’, the forum attracted over 500 delegates from more than 20 countries and regions, interested in the flourishing Chinese potential market, talented designers and domestic economy. A high-level international dialogue platform on sustainable issues, for a greener future in this beautiful country and on the whole planet.
