Advanced Conferences & Meetings (ACM) proudly launched the 2nd annual Outdoor Lighting Projects UAE conference at Park Hyatt Dubai. This conference brought together government authorities, urban planners, lighting designers, lighting engineers, consultants, contractors and manufacturers to discuss the challenges and opportunities in implementing new outdoor lighting technologies.
The conference started with an update on RTA’s Outdoor Lighting Network strategy presented by Salim Alrimawi from RTA. David Dunn presented a paper on electrical and structural testing of street lighting network followed by a presentation on energy management contracts to provide advanced LED lighting solutions by Rashid Al Noori. Whilst Nathan Savage shared a presentation titled “Taking light pollution and environmental awareness into the design for healthier cities”. Faisal Rashid from Dubai Supreme Council of Energy detailed Dubai Demand Side Management Strategy. Another interesting presentation titled “Dubai Silicon Oasis, presenting the UAE’s first smart street lighting network” was delivered by Muammar Al Katheeri. Sharad Nilangekar highlighted the advancements in LED roadway lighting in his presentation. Another presentation detailing the role of the contractor to ensuring installations meet expectations was shared by Adnan Nalwala. Irmo Kaal delivered a presentation titled “The roadmap urban lighting Eindhoven 2030”. Developers & engineering consultants panel discussion was delivered by David Dunn, Mohamed El-Masri, Sharad Nilangekar, Adnan Nalwala and Ghanim Al Falasi.
The first day of Outdoor Lighting Projects UAE conference created the perfect platform for the attendees to build relations, exchange ideas and seize business opportunities throughout the ACMi+ interface that allowed for many networking breaks which created a dynamic, efficient and relevant learning environment.

Day two (March 15) of the conference will feature many more interesting presentations, to name a few: A presentation on Dubai Municipality’s future projects, another interesting presentation on Etihad ESCO’s role in street lighting energy reduction for DEWA, a case study on Sharjah Waterfront City and a presentation on the city of Eindhoven’s light strategy.
