Final report

Autumn for Latvian fashionistas is traditionally associated with Riga Fashion Week, the biggest fashion event in the Baltic region that this season took place from October 30th  till November 3rd. Bringing the best Spring Summer 2013 pieces by designers from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, as well as from special guests from Germany, Netherlands and Ukraine, the fashion kermess hosted also various entertaining and educational events for specialists and guests and took place thank to the support of www.LiveRiga.com, the precious online guide to Riga’s best kept secrets.

The opening ceremony took place in the shopping centre Sky & More, where designers Janis Sne, Ingrida Zabere and Triinu Pungits presented their capsule collections. The amazing atmosphere of the evening was created by the Cbetomusic visuals and music by Beat Retro Scratch project.

In the following days, Anna Led, Natalija Jansone, Katya Kaya Shehurina, QooQoo, Narciss, One Wolf, SockBox, David`s, Gints Bude, Mareunrol’s, BeCarousell, Pohjanheimo (Estonia), Suitsupply (Holland), Maxim Rapoport (Russia) and Victoria Gres (Ukraine) showed their proposal for the next season, while in the main hall of the RFW was taking place the Franz Christian Gundlach photo-exhibition, organized by the German Embassy in Latvia.

F. Ch. Gndlach is a legendary photographer and a cult personality in the world of fashion and photography. He was the first who understood that modern fashion is a symbol of the epoch and the best illustration of it. And this is our wish for all the designers we met in Riga: to become a great symbol and illustration of the sense of esthetic of this beautiful city.
