Description

Project C is an Ohio University, student-led community project. The browser design looks at social issues that affect southeast Ohio. The Project C team mission is to go beyond simply sharing the stories of people residing in southeast Ohio, but to create a desire for social change. The team is using their skills in multimedia to educate their community about organizations that are available and actively combating social issues such as food insecurity, poverty, and low high-school graduation rates.

Communication objective

Project C’s mission is to create a multimedia-based project that informs, and inspires action from its audience. Project C hopes to call upon the community to become more involved in their local organizations. Each organization’s story is told in a 3-part package that includes a short documentary, an interactive graphic, and portraits accompanied by quotes. A visitor to the Project C website is asked to choose which local organizations they would like to support in their area. Project C integrated a voting system that raised funding for local organizations. The intention was that by enabling the public to learn more about their local organizations, users would feel more connected and involved, with a hightened desire to volunteer or donate to their community.

Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator was used for all mockups of the Project C website. The interactive informational graphics were made with Adobe Flash.
