RIGA FASHION WEEK: March 21 – 24, 2012

The Baltic Fashion Federation informs about the dates of the largest fashion event in the Baltic region – a traditional RIGA FASHION WEEK this spring will take place in Riga, Latvia, on March 21 – 24, 2012.

The spring will arrive soon, and people’s minds are already full of thoughts about beauty – Riga inhabitants and visitors will have a possibility to show off their most fabulous dresses very soon – the festival of pret-a-porter fashion RIGA FASHION WEEK will please again with its diverse program – fashion shows, parties, presentations and thematic events will fill the city with a festive and spring mood. According to the international standards the Baltic fashion designers will present their vision of the following autumn/winter season in Riga.

This season, already for the second time in history of RFW, a photo by the Latvian fashion brand „Narciss” was chosen as the image of RIGA FASHION WEEK. The image was made by the team of professionals: a fashion designer Alise Trautmane („Narciss”), a photographer Lena Nezhenceva, a make-up artist Alyona Smirnova (the Baltic Make-up Artists` Association), a hair stylist Inta („MALEVICH beauty studio”) and a model Ilze Puga (“Gints Bude Model Management”).

“We are very glad that already for the second time a photo from „Narciss” collection becomes the image of RFW. RIGA FASHION WEEK is undoubtedly the largest and the most important fashion event in the Baltics, and the brand „Narciss” is looking forward to the possibility to show its newest collection here – at home. The autumn/winter 2012/2013 collection by „Narciss” „The Checkmate” has been already successfully presented on Mercedes-Benz Berlin Fashion Week in January this year in Germany, and in the beginning of March will be presented at the exhibition „TRANOI” in France during the Paris Fashion Week,” the founder of the fashion brand „Narciss” Alise Trautmane says.

„For me it is a great honour to be the author of the image of RIGA FASHION WEEK, it is a possibility to prove yourself and to give to people positive emotions. I was inspired by the newest „Narciss” collection. As for a photographer, the fashion-photo inspires me with its inconstancy: the fashion itself changes, and poses, colours, trends in photography change with it, but only the treatment of light and shade stays constant,” a photographer Lena Nezhenceva says.

Represented by “Gints Bude Model Management” a model Ilze Puga is only in the beginning of her career, but being 16 years old she already is represented by the largest and the most prestigious in the world model agency “IMG”. She has participated in New York Fashion Week, has also worked in Milan and Munich, was photographed for many magazines such as “Cosmopolitan”, “Pastaiga”, “Fashion”, including the edition about style and fashion “Interview” that was founded by Andy Warhol. Ilze for many times was one of the most demanded models during the fashion shows on RFW. This season she is the “face” of the RIGA FASHION WEEK.
