Zaha Hadid for Blohm+Voss

Zaha Hadid for Blohm+Voss - Cover
When Zaha Hadid and Hamburg-based shipbuilder Blohm+Voss team up, something like this avant garde 128m superyacht happens. Meant to be part of a family of five 90m vessels, all designed by Hadid, this piece of hydraulic art is pure luxe and all that it implies.

Striking, bizarre, conspicuous. Mind blowing, intriguing and eye catching. Evoking bio-organic structural systems found in nature, the exoskeleton structure elevates luxury and conceptualism to a complete and unprecedented dimension. Composed of a network of supports, variable in thickness, the intricate formation of the boat’s upper area visually and physically connects the different levels and decks of the ship via diagonals, defying traditional yacht concepts that follow a stricter horizontal order.

The Jazz has been envisioned to be a customizable boat whereby owners will be able to choose their own layout simply according to their preferences and desires. And that is exactly what Zaha Hadid’s pliable hand was capable of designing, a fascinating gem in form of a superyacht, able to suit the very individual and unique needs and wishes the customer, which lies at the core of Blohm+Voss’ approach to design: functionality, form and effortless adaptability.
