Aston Martin CC100 Speedster

Immagine 1

The English maison Aston Martin blows out its first 100 candles and marks its anniversary commemorating one of its most significant cars: the DBR1, Aston Martin's greatest sporting triumph on the track winner of Le Mans 24 Hours in 1959.

Its lines and motives have been taken and refreshed by the new Aston Martin CC100 Speedster Concept, a masterpiece of technological know-how and design developed and built in less than 6 months. This new jewel on four wheels has been presented at the  ADAC Zurich N24 race by running a lap of the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

''The CC100 is the epitome of everything that is great about Aston Martin. - comments Dr Ulrich Bez, Aston Martin CEO- It represents our fantastic sporting heritage, our exceptional design capability, our superb engineering know-how and, above all, our adventurous spirit!''

Let's start from exterior: this unique car measures almost four and a half metres long and more than two metres wide (including mirrors).  The body and interior, which were built by Multimatic, are entirely made in carbon fiber, a material which makes the vehicle extremely lightweight: only 1200 kg. Perfect for velocity. Indeed, the acceleration from 0-100km/h is in just over 4.0sec, while the top speed is limited to 290 km/h. For its interior, the CC100 utilises the latest generation AM11 naturally aspirated V12 petrol engine mated to a six-speed hydraulically actuated automated sequential manual transmission, controlled via steering column-mounted paddle shifts. The precious car has been developed under the leadership of Special Projects and Motorsport Director David King, the styling of the two-seater CC100 is the work of Design Director Marek Reichman working alongside the brand's Chief Exterior Designer Miles Nurnberger.

And Dr Bez adds: ''This car is more, even, than a simple birthday present to ourselves: it shows that the soul of Aston Martin – the thing that differentiates us from all the other car makers – is as powerful as ever." Even after a century.
