Peter Schafrick

Peter Schafrick - Cover

If there were any other definition for the advertising photographer Peter Schafrick, it would be in between of a poet and a magician.
The Toronto based photographer defies the force of gravity with his work and fills empty spaces with colour explosions that look like velvet.
His most outstanding works probably are the “Splashes and Crashes”. Conceived for advertising purpose as well as for making art, these works are a perfect mixture of energy and balanced forces.

Schafrick’s clients include some of the most important on the market: Absolut Vodka, Asics, Coca Cola, Guerlain and L’Oreal, just to say a few.
“Toys” is a new series that captures the beauty of centrifugal force.

To use Schafrick’s words “it is a mash up of everything” - from decapitated dolls to plastic power tools – “spun, splattered and whirled round and round”. Peter Schafrick’s portfolio is the proof of his eclecticism and combines the dynamic liquid works with shoots that still reveal an elegant and clear sensibility. His interest in capturing fluids in motion – including splashes, tosses and crashes - arose out of still life work intent on revealing the hidden vitality of any object. In each piece of art it seems like the suspended liquid flowing is an extension of an object, amplifying the movement to the extreme and the moment to the infinite.
