French company Midual presented to the last edition of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance a prototype for a new high-end motorbike, the Type 1.
The first motorbike ever displayed on the Concept Lawn, the Type 1 reflects the vision of the brand, being a state-of-the-art piece in line with the French mechanical excellence, a tradition dating back to the 30s, as well as a perfect fusion with fine watch-making expertise.
The artisanal motorbike expresses on a whole new tangible level the brand´s passion for metals, rare leather and instruments with needle gauges; their sensibility to the texture of materials and the sensuality of their touch, and their love for genuine expertise and traditional craftsmanship.
Made entirely of metal and leather using only noble and refined production and finishing techniques, the Midual Type 1 is a modern, high-performance, artisanal motorbike developed for the pleasure of riding.
The attention paid to the design of the piece, both as a whole and in its every detail, is exceptional and highly rare for a motorcycle. The engine, extremely compact, elegant and proprietary, was developed by the engineers to enable rapid acceleration and enhance the riding experience.
An extraordinary, sculptural frame from a single piece of cast aluminium is produced in a French aeronautical foundry. The frame incorporates the motorcycle’s cooling system and features a superb dashboard with seven instruments.
The Type 1 artisanal motorbike is totally personalizable: frames can be given a wide variety of finishes, over 45 types of leather are available for the seat, and the dashboard itself has many different finishing options and materials ranging from leather to wood.
An active participant in its creation, the owner selects the type of finishing and coordinates the colours, thus personalizing his or her machine. Each motorcycle is uniquely original. Individually numbered, it displays the name of its first owner and its creation date, testifying to its authenticity.
