Will the Nimbus mini bus make it to the next step?

First looked at with a sceptical eye, hybrid vehicles are now becoming more and more common as, tanks to the fast advancement of technology, they have now come really far in terms of energy efficiency and design.

More and more companies are starting to experiment and try to launch a concept versions to study the market reaction and then create a more now-a-days vehicle.

Eduardo Galvani is a Brazilian artist and designer who experimented in this field too: he created a concept of a mini bus called Nimbus.

Running with a 130Kw (180hp) electrical engine lithium-ion battery that works in conjunction with the car’s micro combustion generator, the mini bus takes electric mobility to a new extreme level as it is a no waste vehicle for energy conscious travellers.

The rooftop is covered by photovoltaic cells that creates even more green energy and a regenerative brake mechanism lets the car conserve as much kinetic energy as possible.

Eduardo didn’t stop here. The materials used for the body (carbon fiber, titanium and aluminium) were chosen for low weight properties, in order to impact less on the car consumption.

The mini bus also incorporates every possible comfort and technology for the indoor space: onboard wi-fi hub, USB ports and power outlets. Incorporated navigation is possible through the 7-inch tablet positioned in the center console featuring data from the on-board inclinometer, altimeter and weather station. This also controls the audio system, lighting, temp control and navigational information.

Now the question raises spontaneously: will the Nimbus mini bus make it to the next step?
