    The finalists of this year’s SBID International Design Awards have been shortlisted. SBID has firmly established this annual occasion as one of the most prestigious recognitions of design excellence in the interior design industry.

    With a 15% increase in entries from over 30 countries across the globe, we are pleased to announce that this year’s finalists will include practices such as Buckley Gray Yeoman, Gow Hastings Architects, and The Studio at Harrods and will celebrate outstanding projects such as the Trump International Hotel & Tower; Danish National Maritime Museum; Qantas Hong Kong Lounge and Hertz San Diego On-Airport Flagship!

    SBID President, Vanessa Brady OBE said: Quality projects from around the world at every scale and price-point continue to represent our ethos; that design is a discipline that requires training, trading standards, a shared financial conduct and unity, then ittruly is celebrated… SBID are incessantly dedicated to acknowledging excellence at every level and our awards serve as the finest way to celebrate this commitment’

    The fifteen categories in this year’s awards range from best Retail, Hotel and Restaurant & Bar Design, Contract and Residential Product to best Visualisation (3D renderings), residential Interior Design Project Over £1 million, KBB (Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom) and best Intelligent Design.

    The public are invited to vote for their favourite finalists at www.sbidawards.com as their votes will be counted towards the overall results. Public voting will be closed at 5.30 pm GMT on Friday 5 September.

    The winners in each category will be announced at the SBID International Design Awards Ceremony, held at The Dorchester hotel in London on Friday 14 November 2014.

    The full line-up of judges for this year's awards will include: Kevin Mau, Senior Creative Director at The Boeing Company; Ben McOwen Wilson, Director of Content Partnerships at YouTube; Jane Preston, Facilities Manager UK, Real Estate & Workplace Services at Google; David Lewis, Managing Director of Sunseeker London; Christopher Jenner, Creative Director at Eurostar; John Mathers, CEO of the Design Council; Mathew Dalby, Design Director at yoo; Carolina Calzada, Managing Director at Global Color Research; Patrick Taylor, Managing Director of Taylist Media; Katharine Pooley, Founder & Managing Director of Katharine Pooley Ltd; Theresa Dowling, Editor and Group Editorial Director for Progressive Market Intelligence design titles (FX, Blueprint).

    The prestigious panel of sponsors include ABB, Natuzzi Italia, Maison & Objet, Wools of New Zealand, the May Design Series and Sans Souci Glass Deco, just to name a few! Sponsors and VIPs are invited to an afternoon tea at the House of Lords on Wednesday 12 November.

    All of the winners and finalists will be featured in The SBID International Design Excellence Awards Book 2014 coffee table book.

  • 17/04/2014 - International Design Awards 2014 open for submissions

    Now officially opening the fourth edition of the SBID International Design Awards, SBID has firmly established this annual occasion as one of the most prestigious recognition of excellence in the interior design industry.

    With a new website, new judges and new categories, this year’s Awards are expected to surpass previous editions. As ever, the awards serve to recognise, reward and celebrate design excellence not only from super luxury projects but also innovative design and new talent on limited budgets.

    The fifteen categories range from best Retail Design, best Hotel Design, best Contract and Residential Product and best Public Space to best Visualisation (3D renderings), best residential Interior Design Project Over £1 million and best KBB (Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom). The deadline for submitting entries is Monday 14 July 2014.

    Winning a SBID International Design Award is a distinguished achievement as each category undergoes an exclusive two-tier judging process by panels of leading industry experts for both technical content and aesthetic creativity. Additionally, the public are invited to vote online for their favorite projects once the finalists have been announced.

    The Awards will be judged by a selection of international industry leaders: Kevin Mau, Senior Creative Director at The Boeing Company; Ben McOwen Wilson, Director of Content Partnerships at YouTube; Jane Preston, Facilities Manager UK, Real Estate & Workplace Services at Google; David Lewis, Managing Director of Sunseeker London; Christopher Jenner, Creative Director at Eurostar; John Mathers, CEO of the Design Council; Mathew Dalby, Design Director at yoo; Carolina Calzada, Managing Director at Global Color Research; Patrick Taylor,

    Finalists will then be announced in August 2014. Sponsors and VIPS will be invited to an afternoon tea at the House of Lords on Wednesday 12 November and the winners will be announced at the SBID International Design Awards ceremony at The Dorchester hotel in London on Friday 14 November.

  • 23/10/2013 - Finalists

     The finalists in the SBID International Design Award 2013 were revealed during IIDEX in Toronto, Canada on Thursday 26 September.

    Now in its third year, the SBID Awards are firmly established as a leading celebration of excellence in the interior design industry across the globe.

    The shortlisted finalists in the fourteen categories were drawn from over 30 countries across five continents.

    This year's finalists include the Google Offices in Tel Aviv by Camenzind Evolution; a private residence by The Studio Harrods; the W Hotel in Singapore by the Rockwell Group; Marco Pierre White Grill in Dubai by Stickman; Hotel Maria Cristina in Spain by The Gallery HBA; an exhibition space for the Museum Volkenkunde in the Netherlands by Kossman.dejong; the Mayfair VIP Passenger Terminal at Stansted Airport by Pascall+Watson.

    The winners in each category will be announced at the SBID International Design Awards Ceremony, held at The Dorchester hotel in London on Friday, 29 November.

    Vanessa Brady, SBID President, said: “The SBID Awards have truly developed into a global event. This year we had a record of just under 400 entries from over 30 countries. There were so many brilliant and innovative projects submitted, deciding on a final shortlist was an extremely difficult task for our team of judges."

    The 14 SBID International Design Award 2013 categories are split between Residential and Contract sectors.

    Tony Hall, Director-General of the BBC, agreed to be this year's Guest Judge.

    The Awards are judged by international industry leaders, including Nicholas Candy, CEO and Founder, Candy & Candy Design; Theo Williams, Head of Design at John Lewis; Tony Ash, Managing Director for UK and Middle East, Vitra and David Lewis, Managing Director of Sunseeker London.

    The public were invited to cast their vote for their favourite projects on the awards website www.internationaldesignexcellenceawards.com .

    The winners will each receive a beautiful SBID International Design Award trophy, exclusively commissioned and designed by the Czech company Sans Souci Glass Deco.

    All of the interior design projects from short-listed finalists and winners will be featured in The SBID International Design Excellence Awards Book 2013
