Conquering Qatar and India

Playing with an italian sense of aesthetic

Interior designer of Italian origin with a wide range of experience in design across the Middle East, India and Europe, Andrea Corsini has developed the sense of both elegant and comfortable design. His passion for innovative design started at the well-known gallery "Dilmos Milano" where Andrea took the first steps of his professional carrier.
While working in Dubai and challenging designer skills, Corsini decided to open his own company "The Italian Factory". That was just the beginning of his international experience and business evolution.
After a few years as Senior Interior Designer, Andrea moved to Qatar and now works in Bangalore, India as Head Interior Designer at the United Estates Group.

Currently dedicating himself to seek for unrevealed design efficiency, apply the carefully selected management techniques and discover a way of adding value of his very particular Italian expertise in design to his projects.
At this point in his carrer Andrea is evolving the concept of “The Italian Factory” with the launch of his own website andreacorsini.com

Knowing your experience with many different kind of cultures starting from your academic knowledge at Accademia delle Arti e Nuove Tecnologie in Rome and further your work background in Europe, Middle East now India, which culture or mentality influenced your approach to interior design the most?
It’s definitely my Italian heritage which has influenced my approach to interior design the most and the constant thrive to innovation, passion for creativity, sense of beauty, centuries of artistic evolutions.

How you would describe your designing process? Do you have any specific things or secrets that helps you to create a new project or design? How do you get inspired for a particular project?
Travelling has helped me accept the inflow of different cultures without any emotional filtering and  remodelling those experiences, colours, faces, shapes according to my sense of beauty.

Why did you decide to open your own company and how has that helped you to improve your skills as an interior designer and manager?
It’s a matter of intellectual and technical independency, the designing processes is ideally the result of the professional and human relationship between myself and the person around whom I’m designing the space where they will be living, working or enjoying their time.

What do you prefer - to create interior design for commercial or private projects?
I do consider my self almost like a tailor in interior designing, building spaces around individual person or brands.( I take each project as a challenge to myself and my career to motivate me to think outside the box which would inspire me  to create something unique. What matters the most..) I consider each project like a challenge and what matters the most to me is both private and commercial projects so that I am able to tailor make an interior around my client’s taste and  preferances .

I can’t deny that designing an entire villa and getting to know each and every person who will be living in it and modelling the space accordingly is more fascinating than designing a petroleum company corporate office.

Do you have a role model in architecture and interior design or particular characteristics that you would like to develop in yourself?
Yes, looking at the past century of Italian masters in architecture, interior and industrial design such as Gio Ponti, Angelo Mangiarotti, Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Ettore Sottsass, Carlo Scarpa, Andrea Branzi, and to all those minds who after the second world war until the present days have made the Italian design a synonymous of elegance, quality and style.
