Located in a newly developed area near Taiwan High Speed Rail’s Taoyuan Station, the Prince Housing Sales Center presents itself as a rectangular volume covered by metal louvers.
Designed in 2013 by Lab Modus, the Center takes advantages of the geological openness of its surroundings. This allow the building to stand out and give a dynamic rhythm to the whole site: the dynamism is an important key factor for the designers’ studio as the built environment will meet commercial and perceptive needs today as well as in the future.
Moreover, the absence of hills and other constructions around the two-story building, allow it to absorb a lot of light. To emphasize this effect, the facades of it have been obtained out of double-layered perforated metal louvers with irregular trimmed openings that allow both air and light to pass through. The structure also lets the interior have a more natural environment strictly linked to the outer surroundings and surprises the people inside with spectacular sneak-peeks.
The Prince Housing Sales Center speaks a similar visual language of other Lab Modus’ architectural creations with dynamic planes and layers and underlines this dynamism even more through the interconnection between the outside and the interior of the building.
