Tours bracelet

Although the initials CKR might not sound very familiar to some of you, this Swedish trio has been forging a powerful name in the design industry ever since they founded their Stockholm studio in 1995. From working on projects with Cappelini to designing the Louis Vuitton and Gucci stores in the Swedish capital, Claesson Koivisto Rune have recently revealed their new project at the Stockholm Design Week.
This year, they collaborated with DFTS Factory, whose Founder describes the trio as "adult youngsters with a hunger for the new." As a matter of fact, the project which revolves around the manufacturing of the "Tours" bracelet successfully manages to embrace cutting-edge techniques whilst capturing the traditional essence of craftsmanship.

By using laser techniques, also known as SLS (Selective Lasering Sintering), various materials are fused into one another creating shapes that were, until now, impossible to manufacture. No less than 2208 individual plastic elements are assembled in the meticulous and long lasting production. Materials such as plastic, metal, ceramic and glass powder are all used in order to individually create, in no less than 4 hours, these 20 gr 3 Dimensional bracelets.  This new type of jewellery clearly shows the intertwined link between architecture, design and fashion. It seems like the CKR trio is not ready to stop exploring the future of the industry, as the co-founder of DFTS Factory explicates: "they are always modern, always innovative, always fresh".
