Faithful to both brands values, the Moncler M by Mary Katrantzou collaboration features absolute elegance through a modern design and a cosmopolitan winter-ready aesthetic. Seeking comfort and practicality at all times, a warm and embracing atmosphere dominates through the use of natural and somehow antagonistic, rustical yet sumptuous materials, where rich and warm colors are involving, abiding and dainty. Heavy fabrics are beautifully sculptured into feminine silhouettes and maximist shapes, where lavishing vivid colors and bold asian-inspired prints shine through robust puffer jackets.
Mary Katrantzou’s ethereal emotion and great femininity is evoked on Moncler’s classic quilted comfort. Jackets are, unquestionably, the strongest illustration of this capsule collection. La pièce de résistance, a cascade of printed nylon, falling towards the floor, in a copious spiral of layered skirts, elongating the silhouette, sculpted in important volumes where different hues of green contrast with a delicate ivory background.
Architectural but soft are the pieces that comprise this visual poetry, where variety is consistent and where the color pallette covers a wide collection of shades, from the autumnal richness of browns, to the depth of burgundies, to the poise of black and the stylish irreverence of greens.
