First of all, Cora Groppo is one of the most eclectic and innovative designers of South America. The odd will to make this strong statement before even writing about the collection is just an attempt to apologize about not knowing the brand at all, before the last Buenos Aires Fashion Week.
In the end, this is what Fashion Weeks are for, isn’t it? Beyond street style photographers, beyond showing off a to-die-for-first-row outfit, beyond the champagne and caviar parties, of course.
An inspiring and inspired collection, designed by a real woman and dedicated to a real woman body, in the most scientific and accurate way: Cora has been studying morphology and her dynamic lines testify a rigorous yet indulgent approach to the women silhouette.
The collection presented in March at Buenos Aires Fashion Week is the brand 10th anniversary celebration. More a selection than a retrospective, showcasing Cora’s first ten winters in terms of geometries, textile combinations, opposites, dark colors and unexpected cuts. Answering some questions for the PR agency in charge for the event, the brand declared as the main commercial perspective for the future to celebrate a further ten years of story. Cora, I really hope you will make it to the next one hundred, instead.
