Like in the movie industry exists the “Director’s Cut”, that allow to present to the audience the movie as originally conceived by the director, “Designer’s Cut” is the new collection of the Danish based design studio “Menu”, which aims, starting from the name, to fully exploit the creative potential coming from designers. The purpose of the collection is, in fact, to free creative forces and give power to the designers to untie the creation of the product by practical or financial constraints, supporting “ the most creative and unique designs” .
The manifesto of the collection perfectly fits with its first line of products created in collaboration with Design By Us and named “Raw Diamonds By Us”, a table service composed by thermo cup, espresso thermo cup, vase, plate and bowl. The line is made by porcelain and it is based on the contrast between the outside and the inside of each piece.
The external surface is, in fact, finished in order to make it appear like an uncut raw diamond, while the internal side is smooth and decorated with a particular pattern recalling tattoos, rococo patterns and Japanese flower designs. The products are a mix of traditional and modern elements and they are expected to be just the first pieces of a more extended collection.
