Baby Blue Chair by Paul Venaille

Immagine 1
Three legs and a nice body: not new creature, but a cool design chair. The footing is solid and the seat seems to float, suspended in the air, giving this piece a “light” appearance. The whole chair is obtained by twisting and gluing together many thin strips of wood, with the technique that Paul Venaille uses to realize most of his pieces of art.

A perfect material for a wonderful design product presented by the artist at the Paris Design Week  2013. Its colors are not chosen by chance: the brown of wood perfectly matches with the lacquered light blue of the “under-seat”. Moreover, the blue dot on the interior wood grain side of the chain is one of the cool details that pull everything together. Comfort is a fundamental feature and it’s given by its well-engineered structure. Also materials are important: the seat is made of three layers of plywood glued against each other and legs are created with solid oak, supporting the comfortable hull.

Reading about this chair can be interesting, but it’s only by trying it that you can really enjoy the experience of the relaxed respite it allows!
