Stunning, gorgeous, enchanting, interesting and beautiful are some of the words you can find in the comments describing the work of the artist Jie He on her website. With an incredible sensibility and gorgeous technique the Chinese artist explores a series of different themes in her work.
All the paintings have an impressive fluidity, especially considering that her works are exclusively digital art. Playing extensively with colours, lighting, opacity and textures, the artist is able to create a resemblance to more traditional painting techniques like oil and watercolour. With every theme, the technique adapts in order to create, for example, a heavier and darker atmosphere or a lighter, calmer and feminine one.
Jie He explains, that she draws her inspiration from the process of searching for the right elements and references for each individual painting. Some of her work is even associated with and inspired by a specific sound track. This process leads to extremely detailed artwork that incorporates numerous different features within each picture.
The great attention she pays to the details in her pictures has the ability to make you pause in order to reflect upon them and the themes they are exploring and allows you to get lost in them for a moment.
