Rice home-where fusion cuisine meets design, a new cosmopolitan experience in the city of Guangzhou, China. A brand new project by the Hong Kong based studio -AS design, presented in April 2013.
A newly lounged premium brand, originating from Hong Kong, paid attention over the new perception of restaurants, offering high quality rice food, innovative recipes and elegant and clean dining environment.
Four Lau and Sam Sum, chief designer of AS Design took as their main goal the idea of creating a strong visual impact through a dynamic and playful interior. As a design language they were inspired by the natural features of the beehive, playing with the hexagon shape and yellow pallet in all of the corners of the restaurant.
Irregular hexagons welcome the customers at the store front playing with its 2 and 3 dimensionality. This dynamic relationship continues throughout the whole interior being even more underlined by the usage of bright yellow colours on a black background. The honey cone effect is used also on the ceiling in combination with lighting to fully connect the indoor and outdoor and to embrace the whole space creating a worm and homey environment.
A bowelled shaped sculpture with yellow spheres going out of it creates a sense of food aroma and visually arouses the appetite. Clients are able to enjoy the diversity of the Rice home menu thanks to different screens placed around the restaurant. Throughout simple elements, colour and imagination the designers recreated the new outlook of this fast food brand.
