Biribildu, Athens

Biribildu, Athens - Cover

Designed by Minas Kosmidis to offer a new experience in terms of fast food restaurants, the fast casual Biribildu located in the Alimos area of Athens, is a not only a place that invites you to try delicious souvlakis but also is a place to feed your eyes. Why? The decoration itself forces you to get in and notice all the details around.  Biribildu in Basque means” to turn”, “to round”, and the rounded forms are all around the restaurant appearing at the lamps, stools, small tables and the wooden carousel horses’ structure. The interior itself of this restaurant offer customers a nice excuse to escape from reality to a fantastic environment.

Strongly influenced by Circus elements, the mix of Circus elements as the usage of red and yellow that reminds a fairground, alternate colours, Bold Classic Fonts, the wall of death, create this unusual space that transports you to this dreamy reality. Also the blue and white Mediterranean pattern that ornates the plaster ceilings give a hint of the ethnicity of the culinary while contrasting and highlighting this circus look like.

I just can’t imagine someone leaving this place bored. It is a pleasurable entertainment for dining and definitely what I call food for the eyes. Unfortunately this fun experience is still just available for Greeks to delight.
