LOVE Architecture and Urbanism accepted one of the most essential challenges in housing construction: relatively affordable apartments, combined with the highest possible quality.
Ragnitzstraße 36 is the outcome, a systematic and efficiently designed building that houses 15 small apartments – between 40-50 m² each – plus a penthouse on the top floor and a subterranean parking level.
Its overall appearance, transforms itself depending on the viewer’s perspective, giving a sculptural and a three-dimensional feel to the building.
South part features large and zigzag-shaped balconies that face the green area of Ragnitzbach. All the apartments look out on the Ragnitzbach, and the living rooms and bedrooms expand towards the outside through the balconies and terraces. The north-facing pergola, on the other hand, wraps up the building and blocks the traffic noise of the street. The expanded metal facade appears almost transparent from the west, while from the east it has a closed and volumetric aspect.
The Ragnitzstraße 36 brilliant mix, of a simple but impressive architecture and relatively inexpensive components, awarded the Best Architects 15 to LOVE Architecture and Urbanism for the category Residential Housing.
