Over the years, the bewitching smell of a new leather bag has been causing a serious dilemma: to wear it, or to keep it in a safe place, preferably locked and hidden from prying eyes. Now, thanks to the Budapest-based accessory designer, Linda Sieto, and her venturesome concept, our deepest fear that our favorite bag will look all beaten up if we carry it too much becomes nonsense.
Sieto’s latest collection ’’Loosen – Phase 1’’ consists of box-shaped leather bags in different sizes. The basic form has been upgraded with several flaps, which can be seen one below the other. That being said, the layering contributes to the geometric surfaces and architectural silhouettes. The attractive, yet clean design ensures that each piece in the collection can be worn for more than one season. After some time of regular use, the leather gets softer, the flaps are more pliable and the bag becomes a classic.
Linda Sieto obtained her MA accessory design degree at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in 2009. All projects, including this line-up, are ongoing and they are updated with new pieces from time to time.
