Super Duper Hats

Immagine 1

Throughout history, the hat has been a symbol of power, a way to show the belonging to one category as well as being one of the most important fashion accessories. It’s where Coco Chanel started her career,  and the accessory with which Borsalino made people dream.

Super Duper has been created in 2010 from the idea of three Italian designers, Ilaria and Veronica Cornacchini and Matteo Gioli. Aware of the importance and the history behind this accessory, their intent was to create a product that is able to blend craftsmanship, tradition, and, at the same time, capable to be part of the contemporary fashion.

The inspiration for their Spring/Summer Collection 2014 comes from the book “Libere!” of Paula Izquerdo, where the life of 21 women strong enough to assert their personality in a context full of preconceptions is described. Among them we find Mata Hari, Simone de Beauvoir, Joséphine Baker, Edhit Piaf and Janis Joplin, with all their diversities. This diversity is translated in the collection with a variety of raw materials and colors used, ranging from straw to metallic transparencies.

With their amazing pieces and ideas, the three designers were also able to win the 2013 edition of “Who Is On Next”, a competition jointly organized by Vogue and Pitti to discover new Italian talents. In this case, the most appropriate thing to say to these three designers is “chapeau”!
