For Emilia Kohut jewelry is not only an accessory nor is it just a thing of beauty, it is much more. Think of it as an extension to one’s body, a form of materialized language. Its purpose is to please the eye, but more importantly to express personality.

It takes artistry and craft to transform conventional materials into modern forms that boldly stand out of the crowd. In order to achieve that, Emilia Kohut rediscovered amber and gave it a new, fresh character.

Combining it with plastic, wood and synthetics, the designer created rings, pendants and necklaces with a contemporary imprint. Contrasting avant-garde shapes and symmetry, Kohut created a dynamic form coherent with her aesthetics: “I wish to show it in an innovative form which has nothing to do with previous applications or stereotypical feelings.” And, she came through.
