D.Efect

D.Efect is a Lithuanian brand with a dual soul, striving for the effect of the defect.
Since 2009 creative director Egle Ziemyte managed to raise the brand to a totally new level, mixing and matching textures with a hues that are minimalistic with just a splash of color. D.Efect collections are shaped as objects resembling architectural figures, with pieces that are usually oversized.

This love for natural imperfections was perfectly reflected in the last FW14/15 collection presented at Riga Fashion Week. The new collection is cozy with a balance of tenderness and roughness - oval lines, cocoon-like silhouettes juxtaposed to angular shapes. A collection defined by the tones of camel, white, black and burgundy with touches of bright colors, sewn only with natural fabrics.

The inspiration for this collection was drawn from two different worlds: On one side, the natural motifs, especially the rough, textural surface of the Earth; on the other side the war period, and the typical photography of the Napoleonic army with their uniforms and accessories in the Nineteenth century.

Also this time D.Efect stays loyal to geometry, architecture and the minimalistic highlighting of divisions in colors and textures. For the first time Ziemyte creates silky dresses in collaboration with the painter, graphic artist and book illustrator Birute Zokaitytė, giving a 3D effect to the garments.

Attention to coats and jackets remains, inserting leather details for a sophisticated contrast, taking over a modern interpretation of classic silhouettes. The accessories are strongly inspired by the military world, with cylindrical shaped hats and giberné bags. 

D.Efect believes in the beauty of imperfection and offers garments with a soul; designs that are geometrical, clear with a focus on individuality. This collection exudes personality and sophistication, for a woman who wants to stand out not only for the clothes she wears, but also for her charisma.
