Poised table by Paul Cocksedge

Immagine 1

British designer Paul Cocksedge decided to immortalize flexibility and fragility of a bowed piece of paper in the Poised table that weighs half a ton. It seems that this ponderous steel table is to collapse at any second, but in reality it is a fine example of an eternal stability, thanks to elaborate calculations performed by the designer. You can dance on it, and it will stand, unmoving.

Paul Cocksedge introduced the Poised table to the public during his Paul Cocksedge: CAPTURE exhibition at Friedman Benda gallery, NYC. He truly proved that development of design is an endless cycle of breaking the limits in all fields and creating something new that in its turn will demand yet another renovation.
