If thread and blown glass seem to be two parallel lines, not having anything in common, actually they are not like that. The Tokyo-based designer Jun Murakoshi first tries to solve this dilemma by explaining that actually they share a common condition, since they are the materialization of both warmth and tension. This theory has been put into practice through the creation of a brand new interior design complement, embracing blown glass and threaded patterns.
This product can be used as flower vase and fruit bowl, since the thread is strong enough to withstand consistent weight. Needless to say, the best part comes with the extremely complex patterns created by the thread, which are so complicated that they seem endless.
Despite this complexity, the entire creation is light and minimal, thanks to the wide usage of transparencies, and a soft touch of colour is contributed to the thread itself.
Last but not least, the most inspiring detail to know is the technique used to create such a lovely masterpiece. As a matter of fact, everything is done by hand: glass is blown by three young glass artists, while the thread pattern is conceived, and transformed into reality, by Murakoshi himself.
Bloom collection is for lovers of the brand new conception of interior design. If you like for things to be “silent”, but actually standing out of the crowd, then this product may fit your needs.
