Anne Sofie Madsen

Copenhagen spring/summer ’14 fashion week was literally hit by the modernist collection by Anne Sofie Madsen. The name itself of the collection, “Post-Human Speed”, is the pure essence of every outfit, a balanced mixture between retro romance and metropolitan de-structured garments.
The main inspiration of the whole collection comes from the Japanese world of Manga, which translates in large trousers, motocross-style jackets, underwear in full sight. Manlike garments definitely lead the way, but romantic portraits and late 90s Japanese pop art prints are a deep introspection into the world of pure feminineness.
The whole collection is black and white, and details are all about excess, bulks and mis-proportion. Materials and shapes are modern and perfectly wearable in a metropolitan context, and the technological look of fabrics has been achieved through a specific treatment of organic materials, in order to give them an artificial look.
With this collection, Anne Sofie Madsen has further explored her beloved world of female warriors through a sporty and modern vision. Sporty fashion seems to be a long-lasting trend, not supposed to fade away quite soon. And one could think the same of this talented designer.
