Every time I watch a fashion show I am looking for the story behind it. A leitmotif at least, a fil rouge capable of giving a meaning to the whole ensemble.
Jean Pierre Braganza Spring Summer 2014 Fashion Show is probably one of the best examples of a collection that has something to say without telling anything in particular, a ‘disjointed’ catwalk aiming at the discover of the opposite aspects of a woman’s personality and behavior: innocence and experience, impulse and self-restraint, sport and elegance.
And yet, it made sense. Braganza’s signature orientalism, asymmetry and laser-cuts were combined in printed and block color outfits that sometimes left space to unexpected concepts, as the beautiful striped coat-dress that opened the show. Light colors, prints and totally black or white garments inspired to the Morbius band, the half-twisted surface with more than one geometry: a beautiful metaphor that applies to the all collection and its public, a pretty wide selection of multifaceted females.
