Everyone knows that Alberta Ferreti is the name that personalizes the maximum exponent of day to day elegance and femininity. With an upbeat and overmastering collection in Milan, Alberta Ferretti’s Spring Summer collection was nothing but breathtaking. And inspiring. And heart stopping. Ok, it was everything I was hoping it to be. In one word, exquisite. Delicious. Feminine. Ferretti.
The collection opened with clean white dresses enlivened by floral embroideries and sinuous ribbons, setting a folkloric yet undeniably polished mood. And then, a delicious explosion of colour and print happened. Mini to maxi skirts, in daring and colorful stripes, were paired with the admittedly in vogue cropped shirts, which had a contemporary neatness to them. The collection started to translate subtly from day to night, and the lightnness and transparency of chiffon softened the austerity of black. But despite the use of a little sobriety at one point, color continued to serve the collection that restates Alberta Ferretti’s enduring aesthetic of unapologetic delicacy and unfrightened femininity.
The consistent presence of delicate embroidery adorned the feminine silhouette and harmoniously complemented the flounce of ruffled skirts and the fluidity of long, flowing dresses. Evening wear arrived joyfully in vivid colors as shades of orange, grass green and vermillion painted veils of silk and chiffon.
Bold stripes, appliqués and prints at Alberta Ferretti. In my closet - now.
