The latest collection by Angelos Bratis shown at Milan Fashion Week was a pure bon ton delight: a sharp reaction to seasons of aggressiveness and exaltation of fierce beauty proposed by several fashion designers.
As a matter of fact, only bright pastel colours have been picked up for all outfits, with light blue, white and beige leading the way. Every garment was purely refined and morbid, nothing was tight on feminine body, which played a secondary role, while fluent long skirts and decomposed jackets rendered every outfit ready to be worn in every occasion.
Light silk and pure cotton were the primary fabrics used, and no pattern was applied to garments, with the exception of soft white stripes chosen for long dresses and kaftan shirts. No heel has been used for shoes, since the balance between sporty morbid shapes and elegant long dresses was a constant goal of every outfit. On the other hand, silver sandals were a modern complement to simplicity of whole compositions.
This collection was a definite statement of new feminine charm, an exaltation of simplicity of shapes and colours, a reaction to extravagance. Some may not judge this as high fashion, but the classiest fashion victim will love the collection.
