How many times have you been fighting with your clothes hanger, especially when trying to reach high storage units?
Established by Georg Dwalischwili, Industrial Designer from Berlin and Janis Karklins, Product Development Engineer from Latvia; Flow Design is a young dynamic duo that designed Cliq a Red Dot winner new coat hanger that will completely change the experience of hanging cloth.
Maintaining the standard size and proportion of traditional hangers, Cliq revolutionizes the action of hanging by substituting the usual metal hook with a strong magnet. Thanks to the magnets, the hangers can attach both to circular and square rails; in fact they can attach to whichever metal surface and create new hanging surfaces. By removing the hook, each hanger saves 6 cm in height, and this allows for less consumption of vertical space.
Something else that we do appreciate quite a lot about Cliq is the sound feedback that the magnet provides to the user the moment the hanger attaches to the metal surface; as well as the fact that having the same magnet, two hangers will repel each other creating an even gap between the clothes. Available in natural birch, black, or white, the hangers can be slid along the surface with a swipe of the hand. For those of you who are still skeptic about this new product, Flow Design Studio guarantees that the strength of the magnet is able to support up to two Kg of weight, and that even though the magnet loses power over time, the loss is so minimal (less that 1% the strength per year) that it won’t affect the quality of the product.
Apart from a private in home use, I see this as a perfect product for shops or business as its performance guarantees order of display, fast and intuitive use and even saves the garment from other clothes’ hooks falling and ruining it.
