Without a doubt, geometric lines and extraordinary shapes are one of the season’s hottest trends, especially when it comes to eyewear, and the new Geometric Collection Diamond Shades, once again, prove that fashion has certainly not mistaken this time.
The unique sunglasses collection is obviously not just a coincidence; in fact, it is a result of a well-planned collaboration which all started when the INNOCAD founder Martin Lesjak and product/fashion designer Anastasia Su, who both now run a design collective called 13&9, teamed up with an Austrian eyewear designer Martin Lasnik. In other words, the eye-catching Geometric Collection Diamond Shades are the outcome of an architect, designer, and optician-turned-designer’s collective visions.
According to the multi-faceted creative team, the extensive structure of a cut diamond served as an inspiration for the collection that consists of two unique models. Playing around with sharp angles and bold lines in styles for both sexes, the Diamond Shades were designed to absolute geometric precision using CAD programs and manufactured using cellulose acetate as the architectural material.
Based on exactly the same geometrical principles, the innovative design creates highly female, as well as strictly masculine pieces beyond the mainstream. To ensure the best quality sunglasses are made using a CNC process and are cut and hand finished by an Austrian manufacturer. The flat lenses that guarantee 100% UV protection, however, are made by a German lense company.
Interestingly enough, Martin Lasnik began his career by following father Gerald’s footsteps as an optician and optometrist. Today Martin runs his own eyewear brand called „seeoo“ and his expert knowledge of the human eye is an invaluable asset to his contemporary designs.
Sounds like something worth trying out, doesn’t it?
